就在官方全球公布Office 2010的第二天，有关于Office 2013，也就是Office15的消息已经出现在网络，在一份微软内部的PDF文档中，工程师指出，下一个版本的Office将被命名为Office 15，一名工程师Josh Leong的LinkedIn状态也被改为“为Office15设计新的视觉和交互性体验”，Ben Gable的状态则为“设计主要新功能”，这意味着Office 15的开发工作已经开始启动。
