Electronic Arts宣布了赛车游戏《Burnout》系列的第五部作品，将登陆PS3和Xbox 360两大主机。EA承诺游戏将简化菜单并增强破坏效果，甚至表示玩家可以“将自己的赛车撞成两半”。 《Burnout 5》的背景设定于一个虚幻的城市，在那里疯狂驾驶受到推崇。EA表示，“每个十字路口都可能发生撞车事件，在每个小巷都有机会违章行车。”EA补充说简化的菜单将增强游戏流畅性。 该游戏由英国Criterion Games公司制作，而该公司也是《Burnout Revenge》的开发商。
