说明：一共42集动画，日本版本计算不包括总结篇剧情集数，翻译为《隐者战士》。
数百万年前，汽车人已经派出探索队研究地球，并融入人类中，外表与人类无异，但拥有变形金刚能力，他们就是隐者战士。霸天虎的隐者战士复活，四处破坏地球，汽车人隐者战士迎击。一批少年加入战斗，成为少年头领战士。霸天虎的GIGA和MEGA两位神秘领袖露面，带来了威力强大的能量战士，地球人OPTIMUS PRIME无意中与超级能量战士结合，成为超级柯柏文，能量战士陆续登场，战斗异常激烈。暗黑撒克出现，与超级柯柏文决斗，最终失败。
