A Bitter(苦的) Pill(药片,药丸) to Swallow(吞咽)
As the bus was going to pull up(停靠站), Angie realized she was going to have a difficult time getting on it. Her skirt(裙子) was too tight(紧的) for her to step up(迈步上去), her hands were full of packages(包裹), and the line of people behind her did not seem to be in a charitable(慈爱的) mood(情绪).
She realized that the best thing to do was to try to loosen(松开) her skirt. With great effort(努力), she stretched(伸开) her hand behind her and pulled(拉) the zipper(拉链) down halfway(一半). When that didn't seem to help, she pulled it down the rest of the way.
Just then the bus pulled up and she was still unable to ascend(登上). She was both shocked and offended(恼怒) when a man standing behind her picked her up and push(推) her on to the bus.
Turning around, she growled(咆哮) :"What right did you have to touch me?"
The man climbed on and said, “Well, after you pulled the zipper on my trousers down, I kind of figured(揣测) we were good friends.”
