目前已经知道，A80采用的是四百万象素的CCD，尺寸为1/1。8英寸。本机的镜头焦距为38-114MM，微距达到5CM。该镜头规格与以往的A系列相机有一定的差距，似乎与IXUS系列镜头相似。本镜头最大光圈还是F2。8，并不是我们期望中的F2。0大光圈。
值得注意的是，本机带有一款类似G系列相机采用的旋转式样LCD取景器。面积为1。5英寸的TFT屏幕为6万7千象素。本机带有9点对焦系统。
本机依然采用四节AA电池供应电力。让我们感觉全新的A80是G系列与S系列的综合体，与以往的A系列相机相比有了长足的进步。
