The interface of the software is pretty straight forward. At this time there aren't many options but that's not exactly a bad thing. Unlike other flash carts there is no need to select what boot method to use since this is handled internally by the EZ4Client. Unfortunately, this makes it so some of the time there needs to be a specific patch made for the game and compiled into the patching software. However, lately there has been a lot of work on the compatibility of games on the EZ4 and the compatibility was greatly improved with recent updates. Within the past few days there was a much-coveted addition to the software -- Link with GBA Game. If you are unaware of what this is it means that you can simulate that a particular GBA cartridge is in the slot and (in DS games that support it) special items will be unlocked, etc. I will get more into detail about it in The Carts section. The second option is Add Save Patch which lets you turn off the save patching which is almost useless but I guess it's for the _very_ rare instance where a game is falsely IDed and patched incorrectly (the only I can think of is with Godzilla Domination). Note that this is just for GBA games so if you try to use it on DS games then it won't do anything. The third option is Reset which -- once again -- is only for GBA. A new feature to the software is that you are able to choose which key combination will reset the game. Unfortunately, it looks like it was rushed out before it could be properly tested and the client crashes when you try to change the keys used for a reset. I'ts probably as simple as one line of malignant code so I expect a fix soon. When selecting multiple games to flash you are presented with a dialog box that gives you the options Add Save Patch and Reset -- once again these only affect GBA games. You must apply these to all or none of the games in the 'queue'. This queue brings about a more difficult problem. When selecting DS games that aren't in the database (ROMLISTDS.txt) it will rename them to '.nds'. It's not a big deal if you only have one unknown game but if you have 2 or more it will overwrite the previous unknown game with the next one (equalling a big pain in the ass). The only solution for this is to patch/transfer the games one by one that aren't recognized (or by adding them to the database so they are recognized). When you select a single game you are given the chance to rename it before it is transferred to your media. For GBA games you are also able to select the save type to patch and the save size -- you will want to leave this alone since most every game will work right w/o touching these settings. For DS games you will be able to select Link with GBA Game. The majority of games don't support this feature but it comes in handy for those that do. The most popular are Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow and Advance Wars DS. The fourth and final option is Cheat Info. This is pretty self-explanatory but if you are a little de de de I will explain it for you. It allows you to add a cheat menu to your game that is much like a trainer patch you would find online for some games. This too is only available for GBA games. The cheats are specially formatted text files (.cht) that can be made with a tool called ar2cht or can be found many places online. A ton of them come with the EZManager software (for the EZ Flash 3) so you might want to download that if you are into cheating. After you have your settings like you want them click Send and the magic happens (the game is patched and sent to your media). If you have homebrew you want to run then you will need to copy the .ds.gba version to your microSD _without_ the EZ4Client and rename the extension to .bin. If there isn't a ds.gba version of the homebrew then you will need to download ndsloader.bin and append it to the front of the binary from the command prompt (cmd/command.com): copy /B ndsloader.bin+homebrew.nds homebrew.ds.gba. Many of the titles I tried worked fine but a few require some more code to get it working right on the EZ4. lA \|i;

在“队列”(指的是你烧录游戏的列表)里把全部游戏打上这两个选项或者全部都不用这两个选项。但是这个“队列”会带来问题。当你选择的DS游戏不在数据库中(Cloud920:鸟的数据库,就是“ROMLISTDS.txt”),这个游戏会被自动更名为”.NDS”, 如果你选的游戏只有一个没有被认出来,那么问题还不大,但是如果有两个个或者更多的游戏没有被认出来的话,前面一个没有被认出来的游戏就会被后面的游戏覆盖 (相当于屁股上的痔疮)(Cloud920:这里的意思似乎是“玉有微瑕”的意思,而且PAIN也不是痔疮的意思,我这里小发挥了一下^_^!)。唯一解决的办法就是一个一个发送那些不能认出的游戏/打补丁(或者把它们的名字加入数据库这样这些游戏就能被认出来了。当你只传送一个游戏的时候,你就有机会再传送到你的载体之前给他更名。对于GBA游戏,你同样可以选择存档方式和存档的大小(Cloud920:我怎么不知道还能选存档大小?????)---这些你都不用管它,因为基本上所有的游戏,不用去动这些设置都能很好的运行。对于DS游戏,你可以选择与GBA游戏联动。大部分的游戏不支持这个特性,但是对于那些支持联动的游戏就能派上用场了。最流行的就是恶魔城DS(Cloud920:NDS那款叫什么名字来着?众人:番茄,鸡蛋上!!OTL,忘了)和大战争DS。第四个也就是最后一个选项是金手指。这个就不用解释了吧??不过如果你真是小白(Cloud920:de de de 看不懂,但是根据后面可以知道是那些不知道什么是金手指的人),那我就给你解释一下。金手指可以让你在游戏中开启作弊菜单,差不多就是一个练习者(初心者)补丁,你可以在网上找到许多。 rG4PA7<

这不仅仅只对GBA游戏起作用。这些作弊码都是特殊格式的文件(.cht),可以用类似ar2cht做成,或者你也可以在网上不少地方找到。EZManger(给EZ3用的)软件里面附带了很多很多的作弊文件,如果你想作弊的话你可以下载。当时都设置好了之后,点击“发送”键,奇迹发生了(游戏被打了补丁然后传送到你的载体当中了)。如果你有自制软件想要运行,你需要把.ds.gba拷贝到你的microSD中,(记住),不需要使用EZ客户端(传送),然后把文件后缀更改为.bin.如果没有.ds.gba版本的自制软件,那你就需要下载一个ndsloader.bin的文件,然后用命令提示符(Cloud920:好像是DOS命令)给这个自制软件加一个二进制的文件头。许多软件(加了DS文件头后)都工作良好,但是也有一些需要附加一些编程才能在EZ4上很好的运行。 j 7= HG^

I'm not sure exactly why because the Compact and Deluxe shells are exactly the same, but for some reason the Deluxe shell doesn't stay shut on the side where the microSD slot is located while the Compact does. It's not really a big problem since it can be fixed with a dab of superglue. Some might find it disheartening that even with the revised hardware there still isn't a flush fit with the DS Lite. It comes very close this time and many users won't complain about it -- only the anal. There are known methods to get it fitting perfectly within the Lite so if it is that big of a deal then users can see if they can do better at making it fit than EZ Flash. hw [CZ2_
The first thing you want to do when you get a new cart is to put the newest version of loader (firmware) onto it. On the EZ4 this is easily done by placing the updated firmware (ezfla_up.bin) onto your microSD and holding down the R trigger while you are booting up. It takes a minute to reflash the chip and then you must restart. This works in both DS and GBA modes. n\=EptO

The DS loader is pretty straight forward. There is no menu you have to open to select your game -- they are presented to you right away. The loader is totally skinable but the downside is that you need to run a program on your PC that embeds the picture files into the firmware upgrade (ezfla_up.bin) and then upgrade the loader. This can be tedious so make sure you like the skin you are going to put on your EZ4 before you flash it. I recommend using a utility called EZSkinner (and not just because I made it) so you don't find out over and over that a skin doesn't look as cool as you thought it would -- resulting in tons of firmware reflashes. The interface is touchscreen capable so you can gloat to your m3-owning buddies about that. Another cool thing about the menu is that it will scroll the name of the currently selected game/folder if it is too big to fit in the space it is alotted. Off to the left side there 3 selectable icons: Disk, NOR, and Settings. Disk is what you are presented with right away -- it shows you what is on your microSD. NOR is only available on the Deluxe cart and will show you what is on the built-in storage of the EZ4 cart. This is usually where you will want to store GBA files that you use often or where GBA games that you are going to use for game linking need to be stored. Previously there was only 32MBytes of NOR in the EZ4 carts but the Deluxe offers 48MBytes of NOR for additional storage of GBA games. Unfortunately, in the DS loader you are only shown the first two games stored in NOR so hopefully this will be fixed soon. The last icon you can select -- Settings -- is just that. At this time there is only one settings in it which alters how you want your saves handled -- Auto Saving or Obliged Saving. {To start a game you can either hit A or double tap the game. You can launch DS games (or GBA games on the Deluxe) from within the DS loader from the microSD (or NOR on the Deluxe). Most every DS game there is works and saves perfectly and most of the ones that don't are problematic on almost every other card (Pokemon Dash, Ultimate Spider-Man, etc.). The EZ Team has been doing a very good job lately with improving the compatibility and, in fact, they were the first to have Lego Star Wars 2 working (except for the eWin 2 cart). As for GBA, it runs the games exactly as it would from the GBA loader with the exception of not allowing you to select cheats in the menu if you had enabled cheats for the game when you patched/transferred it to the microSD. You run homebrew in the same manner. There are a few titles that have support for reading the EZ4 (most notably MoonShell and DSOrganise) but the newly-released FATlib that handles writing to the microSD still needs work. Many homebrew titles that don't require the use of reading from or writing to the microSD will work.
