At first sight nothing differentiates the NVIDIA from the ATI,the price is almost the same; they are both enclosed in a case with the same format. Only the logo on the case change on a second sight, we can observe that the NVIDIA is running with a simple 6pin whereas the ATI does not running without 8pin+6pin. We can suppose that ATI will require more energy (of the great despair of your electricity invoice…. :-)
Once connects, the NVIDIA is quiet and keeps an honest temperature? ATI, on the other hand is noise and will be able to replace your heating during winter. :-)
Lets go to the serious things, we have test both graphic cards on 3D mark 05 and 06, in both cases and in the two types of resolutions (1280; 1024) and (1024; 768).ATI get a better average ,higher than 700 points in No AF, No AF. In opposite the NVIDIA get an average mark higher of 1000 points to ATI with 4AA 16AF. At the time of test in high resolution (1600,1200), the NVIDIA appears better as well on 3Dmark05 as out of 3mark06 in No AA and 4AA. That is undoubtedly due to the highest memory of the NVIDIA (640M for NVIDIA and 512M for the ATI)

For games running with Dx10, NVIDIA is winning on his games (lost planet) with a large advance and for ATI games like "COJ" I let you guess which card is better .For "company of heroes" ,the NVIDIA got a better mark with 4AA/16AF,with NO AA the ATI is better .This observation seems to be a constant except stalker and lost planet, the NVIDIA is exceeds by ATI without AA, then in 4AA the NVIDIA appears better than ATI for all games we have test except for "COJ" and "rainbow 6".
To conclude this comparison, we can say that the ATI is a good graphic card if you are satisfied to play without AA (it is same often higher than the NVIDIA in this case of figure). In opposite, when we open AA the NVIDIA exceeds ATI.
